Abraham Goodspeed

Half Elf Warden - Adam in Goodspeed's Good Men

Background

Half elf who resides in the town of Jesnic, and leader of the local militia, Goodspeed's Good Men.

History

Goodspeed agreed to an offer from a desperate Edgar Lighthammer to seek out members of a dispersed group of Dorthonian Assassins known as the Col'm Shar, in exchange for future protection from The Silver Scale, despite being in far over his head, and not consulting his men before agreeing to such an action.

Traveling to Gribale, Goodspeed managed to lose almost everything that he owned, courtesy of the Hardbottle Thieves Guild. Going to buy supplies, his coin purse was cut, his backpack was slit, and his sword was stolen from his sheath. Door or Window managed to help him recover most of his belongings.

Led the Good Men to the mansion of an elf named Kalias, to meet Palanir, member of the Col'm Shar and man dedicated to bringing Dorthone back to glory, despite numerous failures to do just that in the past. Goodspeed agreed to aid the elves, once again without consulting his men, but not before having to fend off insults and a direct challange from Thomas the Decent.

Abraham lead the men in their charge through the Dorthonian woods to rescue Colour, slaying a member of the Dorthonian army that had seemingly killed several priests. He questioned the elf's partner before August Justicar ended his life. Leading the charge into the heart of the Dorthonian brigade transporting Colour, Abraham opened a path for Door or Window to get to the member of the Col'm Shar in order to remove his restraints, ending the fight.

Continuing onto Halton to find a halfling named Del, who may have seen Manthwe last, Goodspeed begin to lose the respect of his men. Dissension spread through the ranks, and several brawls broke out both at the mansion of Kalias and in the town of Halton, leading to blood being shed on the streets of Halton. Finding Del, Goodspeed lead his men north toward Rellin, a village of retired adventurers. Coming across a man being robbed on the side of the road, Goodspeed took to the man…but something seemed off. Offering to lead a path, rather than allow the man to ride on his horse, the Good Men traveled to Rellin.

Encountering an illusion designed to protect the village, Goodspeed pondered whether giants can speak common, before realizing that he had lead the man, a dark paladin named Seras, straight to his target…Manthwe. Thanks to the sacrifice of Madyrn Maer, Seras's men were defeated, and Manthwe rescued from the village.

Dissension continued as Goodspeed led his men into the Mountains of Misplacement to rescue Wrothgar, the leader of the Col'm Shar. Encountering a group of refugees, the Good Men discovered that Wrothgar had been kidnapped by the orcs that had been hunting him throughout the Mountains. Door or Window, unwilling to follow Abraham to his certain doom, decided to return to town, along with August Justicar. Heading to the camp with Thomas, Abraham was determined to finish his mission. Unfortunately, Thomas had other plans.

Disguised as a prisoner, and member of the Col'm Shar, Thomas led Abraham into the camp, and into the hall containing Wrothgar. Knowing that they could never make it past the orcs with two elves, Abraham offered himself as a distraction. Taking a giant banner from the hall and lighting it ablaze, Abraham ran through the orc camp, to the prison cells where they were keeping Wrothgar's men. Lighting the cells on fire, Abraham managed to kill one of the elves, before freeing the rest. Surrounded by the enemy, Abraham made his stand.
